Circuit Model of Suspensive Disc-type Porcelain Insulator String and Simulation Study on Its Power Transmission Characteristics
To supply power to the online monitoring device on the tower on low-voltage side of a transmission line
a new method of power transmission along the suspensive disc-type porcelain insulator string is proposed. In this method the suspensive disc-type porcelain insulator string is used as the carrier of energy transmission to transmit the electric energy obtained by the on-line energy-acquiring device to the tower side by means of high-frequency transformation.A 500 kV transmission line is taken as an example to establish a three-dimensional simulation model
and the stray capacitance between the insulator and the transmission line is calculated via Maxwell matrix. Then
the Multisim software is used to build a circuit model of the insulator string distribution parameter for investigating the power transmission characteristics of the circuit model. The influences of deteriorated insulator and stray capacitance on the energy transmission characteristics of the insulator string are analyzed.Simulation results show that when the frequency is 38 MHz
the electric energy can be transmitted to the other side through the insulator string with the energy transmission efficiency 74.576%
and the influences of insulator degradation and external environment change on the transmission characteristics can be neglected. This study indicates that it is feasible to use the suspensive disc-type porcelain insulator string as energy transmission carrier for supplying power to the online monitoring device on tower.
