The contact state in GIS loop is related to safe operation of GIS. By studying resistance characteristics of GIS circuit
this paper points out the shortage of measuring resistance of GIS circuit by DC method to evaluate contact state of GIS circuit. DC method has some randomness in measuring circuit resistance and DC method has short flow time
small current amplitude and no influence of AC power. Equipment condition in DC method test is quite different from that in actual operation
so it cannot accurately reflect real situation of GIS circuit contact
nor can it be used to accurately evaluate electrical contact deterioration degree of GIS circuit. In order to explore influence of factors such as conductor heating and electric vibration on electric contact in actual operation
this paper conducted temperature rise test by alternating current in GIS equipment
and calculated the circuit resistance in the process of temperature rise by using alternating current method. Through data comparison
it is found that circuit resistance obtained by AC method can effectively distinguish different contact states. Resistance of the circuit is closely related to temperature of conductor and passing current. The larger the current
the smaller the initial value of circuit resistance measurement. The results show that electrical contact state of GIS loop in operation is related to conductor temperature
