Research on the Improvement of Epoxy Resin Surface Insulation Performance Treated by Atmospheric Pressure Ar Plasma Jet
The insulation performance of insulators in switchgear weakens due to dirty aging
moisture condensation aging
cold and hot cycle aging
thermal aging under actual working conditions
which threatens the safe operation of the switchgear. In order to improve the insulation properties(hydrophobicity
surface resistivity
and flashover voltage along the surface) of the epoxy resin(EP) surface
based on the principle of dielectric barrier discharge
a high-voltage pulse source is used to excite the atmospheric pressure Ar plasma jet(APPJ) to treat the epoxy resin coated with dimethyl silicone oil on the surface. The experimental results show that the hydrophobicity of the surface of the EP after treatment is significantly enhanced. The Si-containing groups in the dimethyl silicone oil are modified to the surface of the EP due to the action of high-energy active particles in the plasma jet to form new Si-C and Si-0 chemical bonds. The dimethyl silicone oil on the surface of the material prevents the 0-containing active particles from contacting the EP surface
so that the 0-containing active groups cannot be generated on the surface of the epoxy resin. At the same time
due to the increase of EP surface roughness
the surface flashover voltage and surface resistivity of EP surface obviously increase.
