Research on the Collision Characteristics of Icing Conductor Based on the Theory of Multi-phase Flow
Collision coefficient is one of the key factors which affecting the conductor icing. Although the characteristics of collision are expressed by some experience formulas
there are some difference between the results and engineering. Lagrange method is so complex and lack of generality while it was applied to study the collision characteristics by the domestic and foreign scholars before. In this paper
the Euler method was established to study the collision model. The air streaming contains water droplets was taken as gas-liquid two-phase flowing which bases on the theory of multi-phase flow
and Fluent applied to calculate the collision characteristics under different conditions. Conclusions show that the results of Euler collision model are close to the engineering. The larger wire diameter leads to the smaller collision coefficient
while the larger droplet diameter results to the greater surface collision coefficient.Liquidwatercouteut(LWT)in air has no impact on the collision coefficient. The collision coefficient and its angle increase with the wind speed
while the growth rate becomes slower and finally tends to saturation gradually. Collision coefficient is obviously affected by icing shape and in the windward side of crescent and airfoil icing reduces gradually during the rising of icing quantity.
