Finite Element Analysis of the Effect of Cable Grounding Shield Structure on Transmission Line Parameters
The cable transmission line model has been widely applied to such scenarios as electromagnetic transient simulation and cable partial discharge diagnosis.Parameters of cable transmission line are affected by cable grounding metal shield structure. This paper analyzes three shielding structures—the whole layer-grounded copper sheath
the shield of multiple strands of copper wire
and the two-layer shield composed of multiple strands of copper wire and lead layer.Firstly
two two-dimensional cable models with the first two shielding structures mentioned above are constructed and simulated. The simulation results of the transmission line parameters obtained by finite element method are compared with the measured data
and the result verifies the correctness of the simulation. Then
the effects of the three shielding structures on the parameters of transmission line are analyzed comparatively. In order to solve the problem that the two-dimensional models cannot characterize the spiral structure of multiple strands of copper wire
a three-dimensional cable model with the shield of multiple strands of copper wire is constructed
and the effects of the copper strand number and the spiral angle on the parameters of cable transmission line are further analyzed with the finite element method.
