Electrical-thermal Coupling Model Analysis of High Temperature Superconducting Power Cable Utilized in 10 kV Power Distribution System
In the case of high temperature superconducting(HTS) cable being applied into 10 kV distribution network
it is necessary to perform short circuit fault analysis
and fully understand the temperature transient response process of superconducting cable when short circuit fault occurs
in order to formulate fault protection measures to prevent power supply reliability problems caused by superconducting cable permanent damage.Based on the analysis of the strong coupling relationship between the resistivity
critical current density and operating temperature of YBCO HTS tapes
combined with the heat exchange between YBCO HTS tapes and liquid nitrogen refrigeration environment
a novel electro-thermal coupling module of HTS tapes was developed in PSCAD/EMTDC
and a 10 kV three-phase HTS AC cable model was built.Based on the electric thermal transient response process of superconducting cable in case of short-circuit fault
the longest allowable duration of short-circuit current impact of superconducting cable is calculated
which provides basis for short-circuit fault protection measures of superconducting cable
so as to prevent the permanent damage of the HTS cable
and improve the possibility of utilization of high-temperature superconducting cable in the power distribution network.
