Configuration Method and Test Verification for Equalizing Resistance of HVDC Earth Electrode Considering Anisotropy of Soil Resistivity Distribution
the installation of equalizing resistance is an effective means to improve the surface potential distribution and reduce the step voltage of the electrode site. However
due to the complexity and anisotropy of soil resistivity distribution
the big error is often existed in calculating the equalizing resistance of HVDC earth electrode by the use of ideal horizontal layer model. Aiming at this problem
in this paper
a kind of equalizing resistance configuration method based on the actually measured value of the characteristic parameters of HVDC earth electrode is proposed. In this method
the configuration scheme of equalizing resistance is obtained through actually measuring the shunt ratio
earthing resistance
mutual resistance
self and mutual step voltage coefficient at each stage and taking them as input condition as well as taking equalization of step voltage of each stage as control target. Finally
the equalizing resistance configuration method and process are simulated and tested by way of a scaled-down HVDC earth electrode model. It is shown by the test that after installing the equalizing resistor
the maximum step voltage in the site reduces by 31% and the result is remarkable
and the effectiveness of the equalizing resistance in reducing the step voltage is verified.
