Experimental Study on Coaxial Cable Faults and Intermediate Joints Location Based on Impedance Spectrum
The coaxial cable plays an important role in power supply and information transmission.Fast and accurate location of cable fault is the key to reduce economic losses and improve electrical system reliability. In this paper
the influence of cable faults and intermediate joints on the input impedance of the cable is analyzed and the experimental study of cable intermediate joints and fault’s location is carried out on the basis of impedance spectrum technology and with taking the cable containing intermediate joints as the study object. The study shows that the input impedance of the cable can reflect the partial insulation state of the cable. The change of insulation state of intermediate joints and fault points will lead to the change of cable impedance spectrum.Using convolution integral to process cable impedance spectrum can achieve location of multiple intermediate joints and fault points simultaneously.
