Fusion Design and Test of RFID Passive Wireless Temperature Sensor and Air-core Reactor
The internal temperature of air-core reactors has always been lack of effective monitoring methods. Installing passive wireless temperature sensor inside it can effectively solve the problem of internal temperature monitoring of air-core reactors. In this paper
the RFID passive wireless temperature sensor is installed inside the air-core reactor and comprehensive simulation
calculation and experimental study for such fusion issues as signal shielding
insulation
eddy current temperature rise and electromagnetic interference are performed. The results show that RFID passive wireless temperature sensor can overcome the shielding of the air-core reactor and achieve normal communication. The air-core reactor has sufficient insulation margin and passed the check of lightning impulse withstand test and the inter-turn over-voltage test. During the temperature rise test period
the eddy current temperature rise of the improved sensor is very small without influencing the temperature measurement of the air-core reactor. The measured temperature by RFID passive wireless temperature sensor is close to that of air-core reactor proper. The Air-core reactor neither produces high-frequency electromagnetic field interference nor influences normal operation of the sensor. It is concluded that installation of RFID passive wireless temperature sensor inside the air-core reactor can effectively monitor its internal temperature.
