Research Progress of Particle Contamination Suppression Measures in AC and DC Gas-insulated Transmission Equipment
Particle contaminants in gas-insulated transmission equipment are one of the main causes of equipment failure. With the increase of voltage class of the equipment the insulation fault induced by the particle accounts for an increasing proportion of equipment failures. Exploring efficient particle suppression measures is of great significance to reduce the failure rates and assure stable operation of the equipment. In this paper
the progress of suppression measures of particle control in AC/DC GIS/GIL is reviewed. First
the basic principle in suppressing particle in the gas insulated equipment is described and how to reduce the threat of the particle on the insulation of the equipment is explained from such three aspects as particle lift suppression
particle motion regulation and particle adsorptioninhibitionof insulator surfaces. Then
the existing particle management methods are summarized and their pros and cons are evaluated. Finally
key issues to be addressed in this area are proposed in order to provide a reference for the design and manufacture of pipeline transmission equipment and safe operation.
