Transient Power Angle Stability Analysis of Power System Considering the Access of Concentrated Solar Power Plant
Concentrated solar power (CSP) generation exhibits a dual functionality of peak load regulation and energy storage
offering rotational inertia and damping support to the renewable energy power system. However
its influence on the stability of power system remains unclear. As for the influence and its mechanism of integration of CSP into power system on the transient stability of system
an equivalent model of CSP plants based on the capacity-weighting method is set up firstly. Then
considering the low inertia characteristics of CSP plants
the extended equal-area criterion (EEAC) is used to analyze the influence of inertia reduction on the transient power angle stability of the system. The research results show that in a single-machine infinite bus system
the substitution of thermal power units with CSP plants at equivalent capacity results in a reduction of system inertia and a weakening of transient power angle stability. Finally
the influence of large-scale integration of CSP on transient stability of power system is simulated and analyzed on the basis of a regional power grid.
