Research on Effect of Operating Parameters on SF6 Degradation in Pulsed DBD System
The degradation treatment of sulfur hexafluoride (SF
6
) gas with strong greenhouse potential is a hot research topic in the field of environmental protection. In this paper
in order to study the degradation process of SF
6
by microsecond pulsed dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma
an experimental platform for the degradation and detection of SF
6
by microsecond pulsed dielectric barrier discharge is set up. The effects of such two electrical parameters as pulse voltage and frequency as well as the initial concentration of SF
6
on the degradation process of SF
6
are investigated. The results show that the increase of pulse voltage and frequency can effectively increase the dis-charge power of the system
and the increase of voltage can effectively increase the discharge energy and the maxi-mum transfer charge of single pulse. When the frequency is increased from 14 kHz to 15 kHz
the degradation rate of SF
6
in the system is increased significantly
which is about 44% compared with 14 kHz. In addition
the system has the best energy efficiency under the condition of 15 kHz and
at this time
the stable operation temperature of the reactor driven by pulse power supply is lower than that of alternating-current (AC) power supply. It is found through products detection that the main degradation products under pulse discharge are SO
2
F
2
and SOF
4
. With the increase of discharge power
the output of SOF
4
is decreased gradually. The relevant research results provide experimental support for the pulsed DBD treatment of SF
