Comparative Study on Applicability of Tunnel Cable Brackets Made of Different Materials
Power transmission cable lines carry high operating currents
making the issue of eddy current losses and temperature rise in cable brackets a widespread concern. It is urgent to find a bracket material with low loss
low temperature rise and good economic performance. In this paper
the eddy current loss and temperature rise of steel
stainless steel and new basalt composite bracket of 220 kV cable line are calculated by multi-physical field coupling finite element step simulation calculation method. First
the eddy current loss is calculated in the frequency domain
and then the eddy current loss is taken as the heat source
and the electromagnetic field-temperature field-fluid field coupling calculation is performed in the transient state
thereby calculating the temperature distribution of the bracket. This method greatly reduces the computational complexity under the premise of ensuring the calculation accuracy. The calculation results show that the eddy current loss of steel bracket is much higher than that of stainless steel and basalt brackets. In case of operation
when the cable carries 1 400 A in single-circuit operation
the maximum temperature rise of the steel bracket is 11.1 ℃
the maximum temperature rise of the stainless steel bracket is 3.2 ℃
and the maximum temperature rise of the basalt bracket is 1.8 ℃. Through technical and economic performance comparison
the average annual operation cost of steel support is the highest
and the average annual operation cost of stainless steel brackect is 36.12% higher than that of basalt bracket. In conclusion
basalt is a new type of cable bracket material with low loss and cost. The research results in this paper can provide reference for the selection of cable bracket in engineering.
